Registration Now Open for 2025 4R Technology Review Field Day
August 27 | Springfield, Ohio
At the free 4R Technology Review Field Day, retailers, farmers and others interested in agriculture technology and conservation will hear from experts and see field demonstrations focused on strengthening the industry’s commitment to improving the quality of Ohio’s waterways. The 4R Tech Review will be held on August 27th at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence in Springfield, Ohio.

$2 Billion Vietnam Trade Pact with U.S. Agribusiness Set to Boost Ohio Farmers
A delegation from the Vietnamese government and business community, led by H.E. Do Duc Duy, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, visited Ohio recently to sign a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with U.S. agricultural companies. OABA Board Director Don Daniels was in attendance and spoke to the delegation on behalf of Ohio's agribusinesses.

Urgent Action Needed: Preserve Sales Tax Exemption for Ag Tile & Grain Bins
The Ohio Senate Finance Committee is currently reviewing the state budget bill, House Bill 96. As it currently stands, the proposal would remove the sales tax exemption on the sale and installation of agricultural tile and portable grain bins—a change that would significantly increase operating costs for Ohio farmers and agricultural businesses.

OABA Attends National Grain & Feed Association Fly-In
This week, Eli Earich of BECE and Melinda Witten joined NGFA members from across the country in Washington, D.C., for the association’s annual Summer Legislative Fly-In. As part of the OABA delegation, they met with key members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees—including committee chairs, ranking members, and their senior staff—to directly advocate for Ohio’s agri-business priorities.

OABA Supports Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act to Protect Science-Based Pesticide Regulation
The Ohio AgriBusiness Association, alongside more than 350 national and state-level agricultural organizations, has signed a letter urging Congress to pass the Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act. The legislation aims to reaffirm the Environmental Protection Agency’s longstanding authority over pesticide labeling under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.

OABA Member Alert: Urge Congress to Overturn California's EV Waiver Mandates
California’s aggressive vehicle electrification rules—now adopted by other states—threaten consumer choice and national security by banning gas-powered cars and forcing reliance on unstable supply chains. With broad national implications, these mandates impact over 30% of U.S. vehicle sales. OABA and ARA support Congressional action to overturn these regulations through the Congressional Review Act.

Vote YES on Issue 2 – Keep Ohio Moving Forward
OABA endorses Issue 2 in the upcoming May 6 election. Issue 2 will renew a critical program —the State Capital Improvement Program, or SCIP — that strengthens our communities without raising taxes. The SCIP funds essential upgrades to local roads, bridges, water systems, and other critical infrastructure in all 88 Ohio counties.

OABA Awards $53,000 in Scholarships
The Ohio AgriBusiness Association recently awarded more than $53,000 in scholarships to 36 students across Ohio through the OABA Educational Trust, the George Greenleaf Agri-Industry Endowment and the OABA Endowed Scholarship Fund.

House Passes State Budget with Key Ag Provisions, Including H2Ohio Cuts and Pesticide Law Updates
The House passed the state operating budget, House Bill 96, on Wednesday, April 9 by a 60-39 vote. This bill will now go to the Senate and we will continue to monitor their progress.
