Act Now to Protect Nonprofits from Tax Reform Threats
An industry advocacy alert from OSAP - your association!

The Ohio Society of Association Professionals (OSAP), a member of ASAE's Community Impact Coalition (CIC), wants to share vital information with our members related to the House Ways and Means Committee's reconciliation tax legislation, which the House passed last week.

The legislation extends the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TJCA) and enacts many of the president's domestic policy priorities.

Please note: This version maintains the harmful provision that treats certain fringe benefits related to parking and transportation as unrelated business taxable income.

The coalition is planning to move forward with advocacy activities opposing this provision and working to ensure additional harmful provisions do not get inserted later in the legislative process.

Please select this link to access a form to sign your organization onto a letter (which you can download here) opposing the parking and transportation UBIT provision and encouraging lawmakers not to add in other harmful provisions in this process.

This letter is open to members of the CIC and any other nonprofit organizations outside the coalition. Sending a letter with many organizations listed will demonstrate how important it is that lawmakers continue to protect nonprofit revenue.

Please forward this sign-on opportunity to your colleagues at other nonprofit organizations and encourage them to join this effort. The coalition intends to send this letter to the Hill on June 4. To ensure your organization's voice is heard, please add your organization to this letter by June 3, 2025.
