Personal Data Stolen in Massive Data Breach, Lawsuit Says

The stolen data included millions of people's Social Security numbers

The personal data of nearly 3 billion people was stolen by hackers in a massive data breach in April, according to a lawsuit reported by Bloomberg Law.

According to the lawsuit, background-check company National Public Data exposed the personal data of 2.9 billion people in an April data breach.

Some of the information exposed includes Social Security numbers, current and past addresses spanning decades, full names and information about relatives, including some deceased for nearly 20 years.
