OAIMA Participates in ODNR Leadership Retreat

 

OAIMA’s Role and Industry Contributions

OAIMA Executive Director Pat Jacomet participated in a panel discussion at the recent ODNR Leadership Retreat at the Hocking Hills Conference Center. He highlighted the contributions OAIMA members make to Ohio’s economy and quality of life by supplying the materials used to build the state.

Partnership with ODNR

Jacomet also discussed OAIMA’s strong working relationships with ODNR, the Ohio Geological Survey, and ODNR’s Division of Mineral Resources Management. He cited several examples of positive collaboration between industry and ODNR:

• Electronic permitting
• Rulemaking
• Safety training
• Senate Bill 181

Looking Ahead

Jacomet emphasized that open communication is essential to maintaining a positive relationship and ensuring regulatory certainty. He expressed hope that this collaborative approach will continue under the next administration.
