Combatting the Political Divide in the Workplace

America's polarized political views have impacted the workplace

So many blog ideas were swirling around my head this month. Here are a few concepts, which will undoubtedly surface in future blogs: facts or fear; blaming, shaming and maiming?; and “Person-Up: Accept Responsibility for Our Actions.”

All those concepts were put aside when a good friend and colleague sent me a survey on the sad reality that our divergent – perhaps more aptly stated – polarized – political beliefs have infected the workplace. Always the optimist, this situation presents the opportunity for those of us who work in the leadership space to turn to offering solutions.

Here's my take on it. Yes, the statistics are alarming. Let’s dig in, understand them and turn the situation around.
