House May Delay Vote on Budget Resolution

The leadership is having difficulty finding the votes to pass it

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said that a vote planned Tuesday on a budget resolution could be delayed, as Republicans struggle to round up the necessary votes.

If enacted, the resolution would lay the groundwork for an array of President Donald Trump’s priorities, which include securing the southern border and extending his 2017 tax cuts. Trump has dubbed it “one big beautiful bill.”

It serves as a set of instructions for House committees to begin freeing up money to pay for Trump’s plans. Meanwhile, Trump is scheduled to sign more executive orders at the White House on Tuesday.
